Compass (11A23)
This copper alloy and glass compass was found south of the Plymouth Breakwater that is a well known place for divers to find debris on the seabed, most likely from the dockyard at Devonport dumped many years ago.
Only the upper part of the case for the compass was found along with half of the broken fragments of the thick glass cover and a central bezel. This may be a compass repeater that would have been installed on the bridge wing on a ship.
